Lynda Vlattas, MS, LMFT, LPC

Lynda Vlattas is a native to San Antonio. She received her BA in Psychology at Southwest Texas State University. Lynda is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology. Lynda currently holds two licenses as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Lynda has experience providing counseling to children/adolescents, individuals, couples/ families, and as a Program Director, providing management, administration, and clinical supervision to staff. She has worked for multiple not-for-profit agency settings, in addition to experience working in private practices settings.

Lynda starting her career as a therapist providing counseling services to child/adolescents and families who were at risk of involvement in CPS and families who were identified as having abuse/neglect issues in the home. In the private practice setting, Lynda has experience working with a range of mental health issues such as: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, couples/marital issues, grief and loss, and worked with military families in the community as well.

Lynda believes in providing a safe, respectful, and open atmosphere for individuals to come to counseling to be heard, validated, and understood. During counseling sessions with Lynda, the client will experience a place to explore and identify their feelings, examine their behaviors, and/or reactions, both positive and negative, and to identify and build strengths within themselves to make behavioral changes that will promote positive change in their lives. Lynda’s counseling theories utilized in therapy are Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Behavioral techniques
