Belen Anchondo MS, LPC, NCC
Belen is a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor and a native Texan. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Texas Lutheran University.
Belen’s journey began working with children and adolescents as a direct care worker in an inpatient setting. Spending time directly with children who had a variety of behavioral and mental health concerns helped her realize how passionate she was about offering people a space to feel heard and saw how much of an impact that made.
Belen went on to pursue her education to become a licensed therapist during which she completed internships working with loss and grief in a group setting and with families facing custodial battles. Upon graduating and becoming licensed, Belen began working as a bilingual counselor for adult survivors of domestic violence; including verbal, physical, sexual and/or psychological abuse.
Belen strives to find techniques that will best meet her client’s needs. She views counseling as a team effort in which she works alongside her clients to help them meet their goals. Belen enjoys working from a strengths-based and a cognitive behavioral approach. She is a strong believer that everyone has the ability to create change.
She also uses Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Trauma-focused therapy, and is constantly learning more to better help her clients.
During her free time, Belen enjoys nature, yoga, quality time with family and friends, trying new food, and cuddles with her dog.
