Kelsey Tovar is a Licensed Professional Counselor and doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, psychological assessment, and integrative mental health services. With a background in both clinical and school-based settings, Kelsey is passionate about increasing access to culturally responsive mental health care—particularly within Latinx communities.

She currently provides individual and family therapy at InMindOut Emotional Wellness Centers, supporting clients navigating substance use, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges. Her clinical journey includes work at the Eating Recovery Center, Center for Miracles, and Community Counseling Service, where she offered evidence-based interventions such as DBT, CBT, ACT, and ERP.

Kelsey’s academic and clinical research interests include single-session therapy, positive psychology, integrated care, and behavioral healthcare accessibility. As a PsyD candidate at Our Lady of the Lake University, she actively contributes to national conversations on mental health equity and wellness. She has presented at conferences such as the National Latinx Psychological Association and is a campus representative for APA divisions 17 and 38.

Warm, strengths-based, and systems-informed, Kelsey aims to empower individuals and families by honoring their resilience and tailoring care to each person’s needs.
