Project Description

Ann Stalcup is a bi-lingual (Spanish and English) doctorate intern. In 2017, she began her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Ann served as a Captain in the United States Army for seven years prior to pursuing her doctorate. She received her Master’s degree from Capella University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Ann’s military experience and education foster her passion to serve people at their most vulnerable times in their lives. Ann has training and experience working with individuals and families with presenting problems ranging from managing chronic mental health issues, multi-cultural issues, trauma, anxiety and depression. In addition, she has experience working with individuals and families with presenting issues relating to court mandated counseling, parenting difficulties and/or marital difficulties. She is interested in working with older adults, Veterans, and the Spanish Speaking population. She is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Biofeedback. Ann provides services at InMindOut Emotional Wellness Center and UTSA Community Counseling Services.

As a practitioner of Solution Focused therapy, Ann utilizes a collaborative approach to achieve the client’s vision of solutions. She believes on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship and facilitating the space for the client to be heard.
