Rebecca “Becky” Greenwood, LPC is new to Texas recently moving here from rural Colorado. She is a graduate of Capella University where she earned her Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling and is currently completing her dissertation for her PhD in Psychology through Walden University.
Throughout her career, Becky has worked with individuals experiencing various types of mental health concerns including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, Adult ADHD, and trauma, as well as substance use disorders. Becky uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Becky has provided therapy in a variety of settings ranging from classrooms, where she was the therapist for an on-site day treatment program, to individual counseling in a clinical office setting including animal assisted therapy and group treatment, as well as crisis counseling at jails and hospitals.
Becky offers a client centered approach, meeting the person where they are at, in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Becky views the sharing of innermost thoughts and feelings as strength to be recognized and honored. By focusing on strengths, clients can be empowered to create the changes they seek in their lives and move beyond barriers that were previously in the way of progress.
