Dr. Maria R. Perez, PhD

I am a native of Texas and obtained my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Throughout my training, I have worked with a diverse population of individuals in various settings around Texas, including San Antonio State Hospital, adolescent treatment centers, nursing homes, schools, and outpatient clinics.

I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, focusing on behavior modification, parenting strategies, anxiety, mood disorders, and depression. My education includes in-depth training in psychological testing in the areas of autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and mood disorders.

My therapeutic approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. I believe therapy should offer clients a sense of welcome and emotional safety. While therapy can be challenging, working together allows us to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where meaningful change can occur.
