Leslie Carrizales, BA. Supervised by Jocellyne Guerra, LMFT
Hi, my name is Leslie Carrizales, and I am a clinical associate at InMindOut while I complete my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with a bilingual counseling certificate at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am passionate about helping people across their lifespan, and my bachelor’s degree is in human development and family sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. I have worked at InMindOut since late 2022 in the psychological testing department. My experience includes administration of psychological assessments including cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive assessments. I have served a variety of clients through psychological testing aged 3 to 80+ years. I have continued supporting the psychological testing department by conducting initial evaluations as well as by delivering results to our clients.
As a student therapist, I have a continued interest in learning multiple therapeutic theories and interventions. I have experience using cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. I am interested in continuing to seek knowledge in dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic therapy, and play therapy. I aim to tailor therapy sessions to the client’s needs and developmental stage. I like working with kids starting at 8 years old, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. I know the therapy experience can be uncomfortable, and it is my goal to provide the best experience possible through open communication, feedback inquiries, and continuing research. I want to empower my clients and help them reach their goals by providing a safe space, positivity, accountability, and understanding.
