Erica D. Dolan, PhD, LPC, NCC
By way of introduction, my name is Dr. Dolan. It seems as though I have been a kind of therapist since elementary school, being a good listener and trusted friend to many. Over the years I have continued to refine these skills, among many other therapeutic skills. Completing my college education in Counseling seemed like a very natural fit. While counseling is a job for many, I see this as my purpose. By seeing it through this lens has allowed me to maintain a high regard for my clients and to continue to deliver quality care. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
I have been in practice since 2008 and have worked extensively with individuals, couples, and children/adolescents. My approach to therapy is to meet each client where they are, in a welcoming and non-judgmental approach. Finding relief and understanding is a priority and I utilize evidence-based approaches to guide clients toward progress. I tend to blend an evidence-based approach with a client-centered approach to create a productive and safe therapy environment. I have experience utilizing a variety of treatment modalities in therapy, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. However, since each person has different needs, I work along with my clients to learn their needs and tailor approaches to help them reach their goals.
I enjoy working with a variety of different populations, some of which include high-functioning clients who find themselves presenting “perfectly” on the outside but feeling overwhelmed internally. Additionally, I enjoy working with clients who feel “stuck” or are struggling with confidence and self-esteem, especially during young adulthood or after a significant life transition. I also enjoy working with clients who may be skeptical/apprehensive/nervous about therapy.
In my free time, I spend time with others, fishing, hiking, playing disk golf, traveling, community volunteering, live music events, attending festivals, live theatre, attending sporting events, cooking/baking, and exploring new restaurants.
