Jackie Mora, LPC
My journey into the mental health field was based on my goal to become the kind of therapist that I would actually want to talk to, one with personality, humor, and compassion. As such I attended Louisiana State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and later a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
There is a common misconception that therapy is only for those struggling with mental illness. I disagree with this negative stigma and instead view therapy as a type of self-care that should be accessible to everyone. It is client-led, collaborative, and transformative.
Given my wide breadth of background and experience, I am qualified to work with diverse populations and issues. I enjoy working with those who are motivated for change and receptive to building an authentic, transparent therapeutic relationship. Ideally, each client would be seeking to be the best version of themselves or in a healthier couple relationship dynamic. My goal as a genuine, approachable therapist is to build rapport and offer consistent support and guidance while tracking progress toward treatment goals.
