Valessa Agosto, LPC
I am a compassionate therapist who will provide a safe space for the clients who meet with me. I will guide you through the journey of therapy to live your best life.
I have provided therapy for clients with a variety of concerns. I have worked with college students of all ages for the last few years, stress and personal growth has been a topic that many clients come in wanting to work on. Anxiety is another topic that I have helped my clients manage. Anxiety can be mild or so severe that individuals may experience frequent panic attacks. I have experience with individuals in recovery and their families. Clients experiencing difficulties in relationships come in hoping to improve their relationships. I have worked with clients with a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds.
My master’s in Health Psychology and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling have shaped my beliefs in the connection between stress, emotional health, physical health and overall wellbeing. Additionally, my experience at my internships at Santa Rosa Rehabilitation Hospital and OLLU counseling services has shaped my approach to therapy.
My personal beliefs have been shaped by life experience. As a young girl, being an army brat cultivated my compassion for others as I traveled the world. Additionally, the death of my grandfather due to addiction normalized the importance of early mental health intervention. My supportive family helped to build my resilience, which shapes how I support others. I believe everyone can reach their full potential, given a space to feel heard and validated.
I can help you to identify ways to improve your emotional health, empower you to fulfill your personal goals and live your best life. I guide you to identify your strengths, rewrite narratives, and engage in self-care. A treatment plan is a collaborative process, created by discussing your concerns and what brought you to therapy. I can help you manage stress, anxiety, and depression. I have also helped clients process complex trauma, create healthy boundaries, and decrease reactivity.
