Ashley A. Bono, LPC, LMFT, CASDCS, ADHD-CCSP, CCTP-Level One
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Howard Payne University and my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings from a group home for special needs individuals to community mental health clinics. I gained a great amount of experience working with children of all ages diagnosed with mental health disorders and their families, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety and depression, self-esteem, ADHD, and parent-child relationship problems.
My therapeutic approach respects the role and the freedom of the individual to choose their own goals and dictate the direction of their treatment. I believe in providing a safe haven for individuals to be who they really are and share their stories without fear of being judged. I also desire to provide a place where growth and permanent change can take place. I believe that challenges do not have to define or incapacitate an individual. Rather, they can be a catalyst for growth and change in ways that we do not expect.
The main issues I can help you with are Autism, ADHD, parent-child relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Due to my experience working with neurodivergent clients, I have learned how to help them tap into their strengths, develop their brain flexibility and problem-solving skills, and understand social dynamics. I also have experience with helping client’s process traumatic memories using EMDR therapy.
