Rubi Lopez, LPC, CCTP-2
I am a licensed professional counselor with experience with adolescents and adults. I completed a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. I have served individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism, cognitive and learning disabilities, as well as deaf and hard of hearing.
I believe in a holistic approach. I will ask you about things that make you YOU, things that you enjoy and dislike, things that you put in your body (on mental, emotional, and physical levels). I am direct but respectful. I am compassionate but not enabling. I will give assignments, so expect to work on a few things between sessions.
You have made the decision to begin a new journey in your healing process and that takes courage. I am here to guide you, to explore with you, and make yourself curious on the how’s. I am a resource for you. I am here to empower you to make better choices for you.
I enjoy nature walks/run, hiking, and arts including photography, painting, and drawing.
