How Do I Cope?

April 15, 2024 by Carter Peterson LPC

We’ve all heard the recommendation that we “cope” with the struggles that we have in life. But what does that even mean? There are several ways to cope with a problem or strong emotions, and they can either be healthy or unhealthy. For example, after a long day at work, some people will go to […]

Navigating Guilt

April 15, 2024 by Carter Peterson LPC

Brené Brown, a shame and vulnerability researcher, once said: “I’m just going to say it: I’m pro-guilt. Guilt is good. Guilt helps us stay on track because it’s about our behavior. It occurs when we compare something we’ve done – or failed to do – with our values.” Although we typically think of the pain […]

Attachment Styles

March 4, 2024 by Carter Peterson LPC

What’s Your Attachment Style? How would your partner or a friend describe you within your relationships? Maybe you have been described as clingy or a loner. Maybe you see yourself as needy or constantly need reassurance from those who are close to you. No matter how you present in relationships, the way you interact with […]

October 10, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

Eating disorders can be challenging to overcome because it is both a mental and physical illness. Eating disorders do not discriminate and can be experienced by anyone from any background. While some may believe eating disorders are only about whether we eat enough, there are many other ways disordered eating can present itself. The following […]

What is a Healthy Relationship and How do I get One?

September 11, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

One of the basic human emotions we experience in life from the time we are born until the day we pass on is love. We see love everywhere, love between a mother and child, siblings, friends, and romantic partners. Although love seems like a simple feeling that is expressed between people, it can become quite […]

What Role can Spirituality Play in my Life?

September 8, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

Spirituality has different meanings to different people. Some view spirituality as a way to connect to a higher power or something greater than themselves. Others view spirituality as a way to identify and fulfill purpose in life or find deeper meaning. No matter how you choose to experience spirituality, regular spiritual practice may be helpful […]

Don’t Let Your Anger Control You!

September 1, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

What does it feel like when you experience anger? Maybe you start to shake, clench your fists, or feel hot. Maybe you feel the need to yell, hit something, or maybe you shut down and get quiet. No matter how you experience anger, it is an emotion that we all experience at some point in […]

What is a Substance Use Disorder?

June 2, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

When we think of substance abuse, we may picture someone who’s a so-called “addict:” life completely ruined, poor health, can’t hold a job, etc. However, this is not always the case. Maybe the person who struggles with alcohol or drug abuse/misuse is your friend, a coworker, or someone you interact with in the community. Oftentimes, […]

Body Image Issues – “Is my body good enough?”

June 2, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

Take a moment and look at yourself in the mirror. What do you notice about yourself? How do you feel when you look at yourself? What thoughts come to your mind as you observe your appearance and how you move?  Perhaps while performing this exercise, you viewed yourself with neutrality or even positivity. For many […]

“Man up!”

May 25, 2023 by Carter Peterson LPC

The Dangers of Toxic Masculinity Toxic masculinity is a term that has been used for several decades and is commonly misunderstood. Oftentimes, people hear the term “toxic masculinity” and immediately assume that the message being conveyed is that “manliness” is bad. Being a man is not a bad thing. The problem is that sometimes, men […]

I love this place. Office is super helpful for scheduling and payments. I do all my appointments online. My counselor Raymund Begaye is always professional and helpful, and offers different therapies including talk therapy and EMDR. Counseling with Ray has improved my quality of life and ability to handle, and enjoy (!), my life.

I have dealt with 2 therapists in the past, and I can tell you from experience that Raymund Begaye is world class. He has all the wisdom, grace and savvy of Hannibal Lector without the cannibalistic tendencies. Always selfless, supportive, and non judgemental, meeting Raymund has been a huge blessing in my life. I know from the bottom of my heart that he got into this business because he cares about people and the human element. He also thinks outside of the box. His knowledge and ability to conduct EMDR sessions have been pure gold. I was skeptical at first about EMDR, but after several sessions with Raymund I can honestly say past traumatic experiences that have kept me in a state of bondage, are not as intense as they once were. Raymund is a true American hero in many ways. He saved many lives fighting for our great country, and he continues to save lives by providing hope to the hopeless.

I've been seeing Ray for over 3 years now. He has helped me work through so much of my trauma. We started with talk therapy and it was a big help. As we opened up through my past traumas, we utilized the EMDR therapy, and let me tell you, it works wonders. I'm not sure of the exact science behind why EMDR works but I promise it does. I've come along way from the start of my therapy journey. Ray is very patient, understanding, and even when you think he doesn't get it, he does. He's always been very reassuring and has let me ease into dealing with my past. I think I found my therapist for life because before him, I had gone through several therapists that never made me feel like I'm being heard. I would recommend the EMDR therapy to anyone. Thanks InMindOut for employing such a wonderful therapist. Please don't let him go anywhere lol.

My therapist has been Ray B since fall of 2021. I was diagnosed with PTSD after the death of my husband. We were together 24 years and have a son. I know I'm alive today thanks to God and Ray. His techniques, patience, experience, care, effort, ideas and many more I can't think of, have been amazing. Ray is a blessing in my life.
