Biofeedback is a safe, non-invasive, and drug-free treatment that enables an individual to learn how to change their physiological responses to stress, tension, and pain. The individual then learns how to make positive physical changes, such as relaxing one’s muscles, breathing more slowly, and lowering heart rate. The goal is to eventually produce these physical changes on one’s own without the help of technology.
