The Family Echo

February 26, 2019 by Michelle Goodwin

Years ago, when I was doing marriage preparation classes with a colleague, he told a story about a conversation he had with his then pregnant wife about what she was looking forward to sharing with their firstborn child.  When Tom (not his real name) asked his wife Suzy (not her real name) what she was […]

Bear Hunt

January 23, 2019 by imo

In the land of preschoolers, there is a song called “Bear Hunt”. And in this song you find the courage to go looking for a bear! Exciting! I know right??! Especially when you are 4 years old and repetition is life. The reason why I bring it up here is that there is a line […]

Learning your Attachment Style

December 18, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

You’ve probably heard the word attachment and you know that is has something to do with connection. Attachment style is a concept that therapists directly or indirectly often bring into therapy. What is attachment style? I describe it as the organized survival system that we create (most of the time unconsciously) to navigate relationships. In […]

Brainwaves and You

November 21, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

Brainwaves and You Brainwaves are very important in our daily lives and functioning. What are brainwaves? Your brain has billions of brain cells called neurons, which use electricity to communicate back and forth with each other. The combination of these neurons all sending signals at once produces an enormous amount of electrical activity in your […]

Neurofeedback: How and Where to Place Electrodes

October 22, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

In Neurofeedback, small, metal discs or “electrodes” are placed on your scalp to monitor your brain activity during the session. Electrodes measure your brain activity underneath the skull. Once we obtain your brain activity measures, it is imputed into the computer software, which compares it to a normative database.  In short, we know where normal […]

Biofeedback without a Machine

September 5, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

Biofeedback without a Machine The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Biofeedback as The technique of making unconscious or involuntary bodily processes (as heartbeats or brain waves) perceptible to the senses (as by the use of an oscilloscope) in order to manipulate them by conscious mental control.  With biofeedback, a client learns to monitor and regulate the mind […]

How Learning the Languages of The Different Parts of Your Brain Can Help You Achieve Wellbeing – Part 2

July 27, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

Just to reiterate from part 1… Vertical integration or “harmony”  looks like all three parts, the brain stem, mid brain, and upper brain all working together to respond. Disintegration looks like a mindless reaction (with no time between trigger and response). The  “mindless” reaction and are characterized by these traits: Judgment Based on opinion Thoughts […]

How Learning the Languages of The Different Parts of Your Brain Can Help You Achieve Wellbeing

June 27, 2018 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

The brain and mind have been an ever intriguing subject for decades. Dan Siegel defines the mind “as an embodied and relational process that regulates the flow of energy and information” and the brain as the organ that houses the mind. Dan Siegel is the creator of Interpersonal Neurobiology, an up and coming theory that […]

I love this place. Office is super helpful for scheduling and payments. I do all my appointments online. My counselor Raymund Begaye is always professional and helpful, and offers different therapies including talk therapy and EMDR. Counseling with Ray has improved my quality of life and ability to handle, and enjoy (!), my life.

I have dealt with 2 therapists in the past, and I can tell you from experience that Raymund Begaye is world class. He has all the wisdom, grace and savvy of Hannibal Lector without the cannibalistic tendencies. Always selfless, supportive, and non judgemental, meeting Raymund has been a huge blessing in my life. I know from the bottom of my heart that he got into this business because he cares about people and the human element. He also thinks outside of the box. His knowledge and ability to conduct EMDR sessions have been pure gold. I was skeptical at first about EMDR, but after several sessions with Raymund I can honestly say past traumatic experiences that have kept me in a state of bondage, are not as intense as they once were. Raymund is a true American hero in many ways. He saved many lives fighting for our great country, and he continues to save lives by providing hope to the hopeless.

I've been seeing Ray for over 3 years now. He has helped me work through so much of my trauma. We started with talk therapy and it was a big help. As we opened up through my past traumas, we utilized the EMDR therapy, and let me tell you, it works wonders. I'm not sure of the exact science behind why EMDR works but I promise it does. I've come along way from the start of my therapy journey. Ray is very patient, understanding, and even when you think he doesn't get it, he does. He's always been very reassuring and has let me ease into dealing with my past. I think I found my therapist for life because before him, I had gone through several therapists that never made me feel like I'm being heard. I would recommend the EMDR therapy to anyone. Thanks InMindOut for employing such a wonderful therapist. Please don't let him go anywhere lol.

My therapist has been Ray B since fall of 2021. I was diagnosed with PTSD after the death of my husband. We were together 24 years and have a son. I know I'm alive today thanks to God and Ray. His techniques, patience, experience, care, effort, ideas and many more I can't think of, have been amazing. Ray is a blessing in my life.
