Creating a Culture of Respect for Your Family

October 1, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

One of the biggest problems that I see in counseling, particularly between parents and teens, is a lack of respect between family members. I have lost count of how many times, I’ve seen and heard shouting matches take place in session between a parent and a teenager. Most of the fights that occur between parents […]

Resolving Family Conflict

September 22, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

How many people like conflict? I think I can safely say that no one does. But when it comes to relationships, conflict is inevitable. This is especially true within our families. In an earlier post I wrote about effectively coping with conflict. Now I’d like to put a special focus on resolving conflict between family […]

Nomophobia: the New Buzzword

September 15, 2021 by Jana Wesson-Martin

Do our smartphones create more stress or relieve stress?  Do you ever lose your cool when you search your pocket or your purse and can’t locate your cell phone?  Then this terrible feeling comes over you?  Sure, now we can track the phone down from the smartwatch or computer.  But, worst case scenario, the phone […]

Suicide Prevention: How We Can Be There for Each Other

September 10, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

Suicide is an uncomfortable fact of our society. We love to treat it like the boogey man and shove it underneath the proverbial bed, away from everyday life. We are terrified to even let the word pass our lips. If we hear people talking about the very subject of suicide, we abruptly try to change […]

Coping with Family Conflict

September 1, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

When I say the word “family,” I’m sure that several different feelings come to mind. Let’s be real here, family can either bring the greatest joy to our lives or the greatest amount of pain. I’ll bet that many of you who are reading this post started thinking of all the awkward Thanksgiving dinners […]

Children and Grief

August 18, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

As adults we can very firmly attest that grief is hard enough for us to understand or heal from. Can you imagine what it is like for a child or teenager to move through those difficult stages? The challenge that children face whenever they are going through grief is that depending on their age, […]

The Messiness that is Grief

August 12, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

I think we can all agree on this one statement: grief is a messy process. There are days when you feel like you can’t get out of bed to live in the real world due to the pain. There are other days when you are so angry that you can’t even say a civil […]

Post-Traumatic-Stress Disorder

June 30, 2021 by Michelle Goodwin

I have been watching the recovery of the Floridian building collapse with great sadness.  It reminds me so much of  April 1995 in Oklahoma City. I was in Oklahoma City during the time of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building.  A friend of mine was a police officer and a first responder to […]

How to Cope When Your Child is a Victim of a Traumatic Event

June 25, 2021 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

As a therapist, there are times when I have to inform a parent that their child has been the victim of a traumatic event. The reactions that come up in the session room can range from angry to completely devastated that their child has been hurt. Also, depending on the trauma, many parents may find […]

Mental Health in the Latinx Community

June 17, 2021 by Kathlyn Guerro

Hello! Hola! Bienvenidos! The Latinx community form the largest minority group in the United States. This trend is expected to continue with the number of immigrants seeking asylum in our country. We use the term “Latinx” as a gender-neutral term for anyone of Latin-American decent. Did you know that only one third of individuals with […]

I love this place. Office is super helpful for scheduling and payments. I do all my appointments online. My counselor Raymund Begaye is always professional and helpful, and offers different therapies including talk therapy and EMDR. Counseling with Ray has improved my quality of life and ability to handle, and enjoy (!), my life.

I have dealt with 2 therapists in the past, and I can tell you from experience that Raymund Begaye is world class. He has all the wisdom, grace and savvy of Hannibal Lector without the cannibalistic tendencies. Always selfless, supportive, and non judgemental, meeting Raymund has been a huge blessing in my life. I know from the bottom of my heart that he got into this business because he cares about people and the human element. He also thinks outside of the box. His knowledge and ability to conduct EMDR sessions have been pure gold. I was skeptical at first about EMDR, but after several sessions with Raymund I can honestly say past traumatic experiences that have kept me in a state of bondage, are not as intense as they once were. Raymund is a true American hero in many ways. He saved many lives fighting for our great country, and he continues to save lives by providing hope to the hopeless.

I've been seeing Ray for over 3 years now. He has helped me work through so much of my trauma. We started with talk therapy and it was a big help. As we opened up through my past traumas, we utilized the EMDR therapy, and let me tell you, it works wonders. I'm not sure of the exact science behind why EMDR works but I promise it does. I've come along way from the start of my therapy journey. Ray is very patient, understanding, and even when you think he doesn't get it, he does. He's always been very reassuring and has let me ease into dealing with my past. I think I found my therapist for life because before him, I had gone through several therapists that never made me feel like I'm being heard. I would recommend the EMDR therapy to anyone. Thanks InMindOut for employing such a wonderful therapist. Please don't let him go anywhere lol.

My therapist has been Ray B since fall of 2021. I was diagnosed with PTSD after the death of my husband. We were together 24 years and have a son. I know I'm alive today thanks to God and Ray. His techniques, patience, experience, care, effort, ideas and many more I can't think of, have been amazing. Ray is a blessing in my life.
