Go Easy On Yourself!

August 11, 2022 by Faith Perez M.A., LPC

Let’s talk about taking it easy. In life there will always be times that we feel we are not at our best, falling behind, have too much on our plates, etc. No matter how prepared we are for what life throws at us or stable we are feeling, problems will arise-that’s a fact. The most […]

The Mental Health Benefits of Volunteering

July 21, 2022 by Marisol Guerra-Garza

More often than not, when a client comes in for services and expresses a need to find purpose in life, one of the suggestions I make is volunteering. Some look puzzled at the idea, while other’s seem to have that “ah ha,” moment. For most volunteering is a positive, productive and fulfilling experience. In recent […]

30 Seconds to Intimacy

July 15, 2022 by Faith Perez M.A., LPC

In the grand scheme of things, 30 seconds may not sound like a long time. What if that 30 seconds were the difference in a meaningful connection with your partner? Intimacy comes in different forms, but there are four main forms which we will focus on. These four forms of intimacy are the building blocks […]

Combating Shame

July 13, 2022 by Ashley Bono LPC, LMFT

I see a lot of different emotions when people come into my office. But one of the most predominant emotions that I’ve seen is the emotion of shame. Nine times out of ten people come into therapy with regrets and burdens that have caused them a lot of problems over the years. This shame, however, […]

Responses to Manipulation

July 13, 2022 by Melinda Schoppe

Sometimes in relationships there comes a time when we realize we are being manipulated. Manipulative communication subverts respect for selfish gain. That may be achieved but the cost will be trust in the relationship. It’s best to spot manipulative communication tactics and know how to avoid them. 1. Making statements disguised as a question. For […]

Empower Your Children to Believe They Belong

July 8, 2022 by Melinda Schoppe

Children who do not believe they belong or matter do not feel valued unconditionally. To help themselves feel as though they are important, bully others, be demanding or withdraw as a form of punishment. These children might even act as if they think they are better than other people (even though they don’t believe they […]

Who Makes the Rules for What is Beautiful?

June 29, 2022 by Jana Wesson-Martin

Perhaps these days it’s a good question to consider. You can find some surprising practices studying the social tenets of beauty in various cultures. Centuries ago, some places in China practiced foot binding where young girls feet were broken and tightly bound.  Why?  Because “lotus” feet were considered more beautiful. And I remember the Masai […]

Shifting Goals of Misbehavior

June 16, 2022 by Melinda Schoppe

Shifting the Goal of Attention: Ignore child when using misbehavior to get attention Pay attention to child when they are not asking for attention “Say it” only once and then act Set up routines Plan special times to play and let them lead Use encouragement, not praise Return responsibility to the child Redirect by involving […]

Empowering Children to Have Courage

June 16, 2022 by Melinda Schoppe

Children who do not have courage do not take risks and tend to give up without trying. They frequently avoid challenges. As children develop courage, they are more willing to try new things. They begin to believe they can succeed, and they feel hopeful. Children with courage believe they can handle difficult situations and changes. […]

ADHD Parenting Tips

June 16, 2022 by Melinda Schoppe

Life with a child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD) can sometimes be a challenge, frustrating and even overwhelming. The earlier and more consistently you address your child’s challenges, the greater chance for success later in life. With this diagnosis your child most likely experiences these deficits: Inability to think and plan ahead Managing and […]

I love this place. Office is super helpful for scheduling and payments. I do all my appointments online. My counselor Raymund Begaye is always professional and helpful, and offers different therapies including talk therapy and EMDR. Counseling with Ray has improved my quality of life and ability to handle, and enjoy (!), my life.

I have dealt with 2 therapists in the past, and I can tell you from experience that Raymund Begaye is world class. He has all the wisdom, grace and savvy of Hannibal Lector without the cannibalistic tendencies. Always selfless, supportive, and non judgemental, meeting Raymund has been a huge blessing in my life. I know from the bottom of my heart that he got into this business because he cares about people and the human element. He also thinks outside of the box. His knowledge and ability to conduct EMDR sessions have been pure gold. I was skeptical at first about EMDR, but after several sessions with Raymund I can honestly say past traumatic experiences that have kept me in a state of bondage, are not as intense as they once were. Raymund is a true American hero in many ways. He saved many lives fighting for our great country, and he continues to save lives by providing hope to the hopeless.

I've been seeing Ray for over 3 years now. He has helped me work through so much of my trauma. We started with talk therapy and it was a big help. As we opened up through my past traumas, we utilized the EMDR therapy, and let me tell you, it works wonders. I'm not sure of the exact science behind why EMDR works but I promise it does. I've come along way from the start of my therapy journey. Ray is very patient, understanding, and even when you think he doesn't get it, he does. He's always been very reassuring and has let me ease into dealing with my past. I think I found my therapist for life because before him, I had gone through several therapists that never made me feel like I'm being heard. I would recommend the EMDR therapy to anyone. Thanks InMindOut for employing such a wonderful therapist. Please don't let him go anywhere lol.

My therapist has been Ray B since fall of 2021. I was diagnosed with PTSD after the death of my husband. We were together 24 years and have a son. I know I'm alive today thanks to God and Ray. His techniques, patience, experience, care, effort, ideas and many more I can't think of, have been amazing. Ray is a blessing in my life.
